Scope of Works

  • Construction of a double-storey basement

  • Swimming pool

  • Reinforced concrete frame

  • Structural steel frame and roof over four floors in order to convert the building into luxury accommodation and a new retail unit facing onto Westbourne Grove

Key Points

Demolition of the Old Westbourne Grove Post Office which spans from Westbourne Grove right back to Lonsdale Road. Demolition includes façade retention of the listed façade on Westbourne Grove front and rear elevations. Also façade retention to the elevation on Lonsdale Road.

  • Design and installation of all temporary structural steelwork and temporary piles to support façade retention schemes.

  • Design and installation of contiguous piles to basement perimeter and tension/bearing piles to support the new structure.

  • Excavation and disposal of approx. 2,500m3 of earth in order to construct an 8m-deep basement and swimming pool.

  • Design and installation of permanent steel work to Westbourne Grove elevation of site.

  • Construction of reinforced concrete watertight basement structure and four levels of reinforced concrete frame.

  • Supply and Installation of luffing jib tower crane.

  • Project allows for early handover of retail proportion of the development.
